Medicare can be complicated, Jewish Family Service can help you understand Medicare and other senior insurance topics, providing free information and services through the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP). Trained and certified counselors can answer questions about Medicare health coverage for people who are age 65 or older, people under 65 with disabilities, and people who are age 65 or older, people under 65 with disabilities, and people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. We can also provide information regarding Medicare advantage plans, Medicare Part D (drudge coverage), Long-Term care insurance, Home health coverage, Retiree health plans and Medicare supplemental insurance.
Food Assistance
Jewish Family Service offers a holistic approach to food assistance. A food pantry, case management, and peer-based social activities are gathered conveniently under one roof at the Barbash Family Vital Support Center. The food pantry, offering a full array of kosher food, is open to Jewish Family Service, clients as well as our neighbors in need who live in Cincinnati’s Greater Clifton area. The Vital Support Center addresses the unique needs of people experiencing poverty or mental illness who desire to be served withing a Jewish cultural setting.
Social Security Benefits, Veterans Services and Advice
Jewish Family Service care managers provide information and assistance with government and public benefits. You can get help with public benefit programs including the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Home Energy Assistance Program, PIPP, and other supportive programs available for older adults. We help veterans with benefit eligibility and applications, and connect them to community resources and services as necessary to address financial distress and health issues.
